What's happening
At Colegio Pedro de Valdivia Agustinas, safeguarding is more than a policy - it is a shared commitment across our whole community. Every student is supported in a safe, inclusive environment that promotes wellbeing, health and security. Our teachers, staff and families work together to protect students from harm and help them grow academically and personally, so they feel safe, valued and empowered to thrive.
We're here to support you
Nelson Troncoso M.
Health and Safety Coordinator, Academic Secretary
A professional with 40 years of experience, he joined the school in 1983 as General Inspector. Since 1997, Nelson has held the role of Academic Secretary and brings extensive experience in the management of current regulations in education, health and safety, and safeguarding.
He also has strong experience in leadership and teamwork. Since 2022, he has taken on the role of Health and Safety Coordinator, with the aim of helping to create a safe, accident-free environment for teaching, learning and work for staff, students and visitors.
Colegio Pedro de Valdivia Agustinas fosters a safe environment where student wellbeing and protection are a top priority. The whole school community - staff, families and external partners - shares responsibility for preventing, identifying and responding to any risk, abuse or neglect.
Through clear protocols and ongoing training, we work together to safeguard every student and support their all-round development in a secure and caring environment.
Visitor entry protocol
All visitors and external providers must register and verify their identity before entering the school. Access is only granted once they have been identified and authorised by the relevant members of staff.
Staff and visitor identification
All staff and authorised personnel are required to wear visible identification at all times. This allows roles, responsibilities and access permissions to be recognised quickly and clearly across the school.
Controlled access for parents and visitors
Parents and visitors must register on arrival and follow the school’s established access procedures. These measures help ensure the safety, protection and wellbeing of all students.
On-site safety and supervision
Designated staff oversee access points, monitor shared spaces and respond promptly to any situation that may affect student wellbeing or safety.
Staff training and responsibility
All school staff receive safeguarding and student protection training, so they can recognise signs of concern and respond in line with the school’s safeguarding procedures.
